Broken Branches Vs Night Break

Midstar slept in her den, snoring quietly. Her dreams had been interesting lately. She had been stuck in the dark, being attacked by cats. They growled and spat harsh words which echoed in her ears when she awoke. Today was no exception. She stood at the bottom of a tree and she overlooked a kit who was training. It then turned, its eyes were black. Midstar blinked in suprize, taking a step back. The kit's golden fur fell out, replaced with blackness. It began to run at her. The warrior's eyes opened wide and mouthed a silent scream, black fur seeping over its pelt like fire. The kit multipied into more warriors, their eyes like stars. They all snarled at the same time, "Kill the clan! Kill the clan!" and pounced on her. They ripped at her skin, their claws like fire, moving so fast taht Midstar could not see them. Following them the warriror had multiplied with shadowy warriors and they stalked towards her, vulgar words lashing out from their mouths. They pounced at her too, when the cool winds you normally felt at night whooshed over her. The pain increased. She shrieked, waking up. She breathed hard, looking around in a defensive position. She opened her eyes wide, it was a word from StarCLan. NightCLan were going to attack and try to wipe them out. She bared her teeth. Her birth clan! Attacking BranchCLan? She thought they were close, but it was all a sharade. BranchCLan would go to war with NightCLan! Do you find this valuable? |

A shining apparation appeared, somebody who had been forgetten. Skystar, not the Skystar that had left the clan, but a young, beautiful silver she-cat with eyes that were bright with youth. "Oh, Midstar, I think I made the right choice in choosing you," She said, smiling at the leader, "You're doing splendidly. I'm sorry to hear you've been having nightmares."

Midstar blinked at Skystar, she wasn't expecting her. She smiled, "Thank you" she said.

"I must say," She meows, "Of all the clans, I'm surprized it's NightClan. If you remember, they saved us once. But I suppose those are days past. What do you plan to do about it?"

Midstar sat settled down and sat on the ground. "I plan to go to war with NightClan" she said, "But first with a talk with my medicine cat"

As always, the tom seemed to have appeared from nowhere. His silver fur was a bit more dull nowadays. His leg was still wrapped in a heavy coating of cobwebs. He couldn't put any weight on it, or he'd yowl like a kit. He wondered if it would be at all possible to simply remove his leg. Now that he thought about it, the Dungeon could do it. They would remove the leg, and he'd escape.He watched Midstar with his calm blue eyes. Do you find this valuable? |

Skystar smiled, and dipped her head at the medicine cat. She didn't know whether or not he could see her, but before she found out she left in a whirlwind of dust and stars.

Hollowtree's ear twitched once. Skystar had been here. He could smell her, or, rather, feel her. His tail wriggled; he liked that Skystar still watched them. Still her stared at his leader.

Hollowtree nodded once. "Hello, Midstar. I heard you speaking, and you mentioned you needed me. So here I am." There was a little bit of a different meaning in his words. It was a simple message saying that whenever he was needed, he would be there.

Hollowtree sighed and shook his head sadly. "Even when I sought them out they did not come to me. I was planning on visiting the Moonpool soon." He glanced down at his leg, and he added softly, "I was wondering if they might have a way to heal this, or a way to make it stop hurting."

Hollowtree's tail waved once, and he murmured, "I need an Apprentice. I'm the opposite of my kin. I'm aging very quickly. Getting old, getting weak... I need to teach someone what I know." He wondered if one of the fox pups would be interested in being a Medicine Cat, but he doubted they would.

Hollowtree murmured, shrinking down a little bit, "I don't know if I have enough time to wait for another batch of kits before I can't perform my duties." He shook his head and murmured, "The snake that bit me was nothing like any other snake I've ever seen, and its venom was no different. The venom is like acid, eating away at the muscle and tissue of my leg."
