Black-kit lay among a heap of rocks with his mother and siblings. He breathed very slowly, his eyes on the clouds above him. He wondered if StarCLan rode on clouds during the day. He flipped over and went over to his mother, Cloversong of the late EmeraldCLan, "Mom, I'mn hungry. And lonely. Why isn't Starpaw or Splashpaw here toplay with us? Where'd they go?" he asked.
