The Twoleg Dump
This place is very large and filled with hundreds of Twoleg items, rats, and mice, along with a few hawks. It is a great place to find shelter and food, for a wandering cat or a loner. But there are two pit-bulls-- Rock and Mitch-- who guard it, and a little tom cat, Capricorn, who roams around. There is a tall mesh fence surrounding it, but cats can crawl underneath it through parts of the fence where it's been bent back. It's a good place to stay after a journey, or before, or when you just need some other food.

Across the pile of Twoleg-rubbish a visibly red she-cat, with long claws and a thin body, was picking through the garbage. She pulled out a plump squirrel and recoiled from it when she noticed the maggots writhing in its carcass. The she-cat, whose name was Lurid, or Luridpaw, hissed. "Why, out of all the StarClan-forsaken places in the world, is there never any good food around here?" She shoved the squirrel away and quickly weaved her way down the pile to the muddy ground below it. Luridpaw knew how to hunt, but she couldn't intrude on the other cats' land or she would get punished, or even worse: killed. Was there a decent place around to live?

Ziggy padded among the grime, disgusting. So this is what I'm reduced to? Hunting rats? It's better than Dawnstar though. Anything, anything is better than having his freedom taken, being forced to worship deadheads, and being turned into a clan cat. So noble, so blinded by his own nobility. But how many followed me? He looked around and could sense cats crawling among the heaps, probably much like him. Cold, hungry and vengeful.

The gold-and-white she-cat with the silver-chain collar hobbled over to the abandoned bed and flopped onto her side, rasping heavily. Her kits were coming, and her mate, Canin, had rushed off to find help from anywhere. For now, the emerald-eyed she-cat panted and moaned in pain, trying to hold off until he arrived. Canin, a black and white tuxedo tom with yellow eyes, sprinted on the BranchClan and NightClan borders, yowling, "Help! Please help! My mate is having kits!" His heart raced. |
