Or so it felt. The bengal tom-cat had finally gotten away from his pathetic masters, even though he still bore their scars, and he'd never get rid of them. He was finally free of their heavy hands, their relentless blows on his comparitively small body. He once more clawed at the chain around his neck, pulling weakly, almost uncaringly, at the sign of his being a kittypet. It was tight around his throat, but he'd found several ways to make breathing easier for him. He trotted forward, to enter the Loner's Territory further, and he suddenly heard a rustling. He looked around with his sharp amber eyes, and he called, "Who's there?"

You all remember Requiem / Honeychain, mother of Wheatripple, Sunpaw, Echostep, and Shinefall, don't you? This guy here had the same owners, and they put a chain around his neck, like they did with Requiem. Don't worry, I got Elixean's permission to use the chain idea.))
